Al Fronczak's 2008 Draft Grades
Each and every year I refrain from picking the winners and losers in the draft because nobody truely knows how a teams draft will turnout until several years down the line...Instead, I've awarded each team points based on the quality of talent they selected, and divided their points by the picks they used to acquire those prospects.
Each team was awarded points for every pick they made in the draft.
The following list ranks the teams that received the most value from their picks. In my opinion, the Jaguars got the most value out of their picks because they averaged 3.4 points per draft pick, while the Panthers averaged just 2.2.
Breakdown:
5 points was awarded for a top tier prospect with first round talent
4 points was awarded for a second tier prospect with 2nd round talent
3 points was awarded for a third tier prospect with 3rd to 4th round talent
2 points was awarded for a fourth tier prospect with 5th to 6th round talent
1 point was awarded for a fifth tier prospect with 7th round to free agent talent
