Draft Review - Every year I refrain from picking the winners and losers of the draft because even the teams don't know how their prospects will turn out at the next level, so instead of going that route, the following is my opinion of the best and worst moves of the draft and more.  The best move of the first round goes to the Bills for moving down in the round, preventing their division rival Jets from taking WR Tavon Austin, adding a second-round pick in the process which turned out to be LB Kiko Alonso, and still came away with their quarterback of choice in E.J. Manuel.  The worst move of the first round goes to the Cowboys for trading down in the round, passing up DT Sharrif Floyd - a perfect fit as a 3-technique in Monte Kiffin's defense, and then reaching for C Travis Frederick, who very likely would have still been available when the Cowboys selected in the second round.  Also, the team that had the best draft in my opinion is the Cardinals. who picked potential starters with their first 8 picks in the draft, including DE Alex Okafor in round four, HB Stepfan Taylor in round five, and WR Ryan Swope and HB Andre Ellington in round six.  The Cardinals did roll the dice in the third round on CB Tyrann Matthieu, who's dating Cards DC Todd Bowles step-daughter.  Last but not least, to Jets fans who seem to have never gotten over the fact that they passed up Warren Sapp in the 1995 Draft, eighteen years later, your team made up for that mistake by taking DT Sheldon Richardson, who reminds me of a young Warren Sapp with his play on the field.  Don't forget to bookmark my 2014 NFL Draft Page which is under construction, since I will be posting a list of top prospects for the 2014 NFL Draft within the next week or so.  -Al Fronczak

04/27
Quick Hits - The Jets have agreed to terms on a 1-year deal with free agent OG Stephen Peterman...Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Jets QB Mark Sanchez has a $500,000 workout bonus that is pro-rated by the day -  So in other words, the meter is running...Jets GM John Idzik was noncommittal when asked whether QB Mark Sanchez will be on the Jets roster at the beginning of OTAs.

Wrong Fit - 8:27 a.m. ET - Talk about a terrible match!  Good Luck to the Jets and thin-skinned quarterback Geno Smith, who has shown to be highly sensitive to his critics during the pre-draft process, and now he lands in New York, one of the toughest media outlets in the league.  It certainly doesn't look like a match made in Heaven to me.  -Al Fronczak

Top Prospects - The following is a list of the highest rated prospects that are still available when the draft resumes today.
QB's - Matt Barkley, Ryan Nassib, Tyler Bray, Tyler Wilson, Landry Jones...HB's - Andre Ellington, Jonathan Franklin, Kenjon Barner, Zac Stacey...WR's - Quinton Patton, Chris Harper, Da'Rick Rogers, Denard Robinson, Ryan Swope...TE's - Dion Sims, Chris Gragg, Nick Kasa, Zach Sudfeld...C's - Brian Schwenke, Brian Jones...OG's - David Quisenberry, Alvin Bailey, Jeff Baca...OT's - David Bakhiarti, Reid Fragel, Jordan Mills, Oday Aboushi...DE's - Alex Okafor, Cornelius Washington, Quanterus Smith, Williams Gholston, Mike Buchanon, Malicah Goodman...DT's - Jesse Williams, Akeem Spence, Montori Hughes...ILB's - Kevin Reddick, Steve Beauharhais, A.J. Al's Draft Tips - 10:02 a.m. ET - In my final mock which had to be submitted before midnight last night, I had the Jets taking Barkevious Mingo with their first of two first-round picks.  However im getting the sense that Mingo will be already off the board which will open the door for Georgia LB Jarvis Jones to become the newest member of the Jets.....8:40 a.m. ET - Don't be surprised if LSU OLB Barkevious Mingo actually comes off the board before Oregon OLB Dion Jordan since NFL teams consider Mingo to be a clean prospect, since he's smart and has yet to reach his potential.  Mingo played in a system at LSU where he wasn't always allowed to unleash his talent, since he was coached to read the and not react instead of having his ears pinned back, which hurt his defensive stats......8:15 a.m. ET - If the draft falls the way I believe it will, the second round will be chock full of prospects available on Friday night which will make it easier in my opinion, for a team to move up in the later part of round one because numerous teams will be willing to move down, add a draft pick for the move, and still be able to land a prospect with a similar grade. -Al Fronczak

Final Mock - My final mock has been posted with three potential trades and numerous changes from my previous mock.  In all the years that I have been involved in the draft and have posted a mock, this by far is the most unpredictable first round that I can ever remember, with as many as 49 prospects that have a chance to hear their name called in the first round tonight.  -Al Fronczak

Quick Take - 1:37 pm ET - The fact that Cal WR Keenan Allen ran a 4.7 forty-time this morning dings his stock just a bit, even though he's still not 100%.  I still believe he's the second best WR in this draft,  but he will slip out of the first round due to that forty time.  I had Allen mocked to the Texans in my most recent version, but will post an updated version soon.  On tape, Allen is a 4.55 to 4.60 runner and will be a huge steal for the team that lands him, should he slip out of the first round like I suspect. -Al Fronczak

Rankings Update - 6:42 am ET - I've spent the last week going over all the offensive prospects for the draft, and have updated my rankings for all of the positions on the left side of this blog.  The quarterback position was the hardest position to rank, since none of the prospects rank head and shoulders over the others.  For example, my first tier of quarterbacks (Barkley, Manuel, Nassib) all have nearly identical rankings, while my second tier (Bray, Smith) aren't that far behind, and either of the two could come off the board ahead of any of the three in the first tier.  Tyler Bray for example, is a prospect that I feel is really climbing the boards because he has the best arm in the draft and really anticipates his receivers getting open, much better than I thought after going over his games for the second time.  Bray has played in a pro-style offense, has reshaped his body by gaining 20 plus pounds and probably has the biggest upside of all the quarterbacks.  However, at the end of the day, I couldn't confidently pound the table for any of the quarterback prospects available in this draft becoming a future star at the next level.  -Al Fronczak

Draft Tip - 1:29 pm ET - Don't be surprised if Central Michigan OT Eric Fisher is the first offensive tackle to come off the board on draft day, since his draft grade from tape is similar to that of OT Luke Joeckel, but Fisher is more athletic than Joeckel, which is key to playing left tackle at the next level.  Fisher's forty-time, broad-jump numbers, short-shuttle and three-cone times were all much better than Joeckel's at the combine, which becomes the tie-breaker in their evaluation and final grade on the board.  -Al Fronczak

Draft Trade Down - Teams that won't be moving up in the first round, and are the most likely to attempt to move down in the draft:
