Al's Scoop...I find it hard to believe that the Patriots will deal quarterback Matt Cassel, since numerous reports have the Patriots willing to deal him for draft picks. The last time I checked the draft is being held in April, and there's no possible way that the Patriots will know for sure by then that Tom Brady will be back in time for the start of the '09 season. This is the first significant injury that Tom Brady has suffered in his career, so there is no way to tell how he will respond, plus Brady will be 32-years old when the upcoming season begins. Brady could also suffer a setback in his recovery and the Patriots would be stuck with Kevin O'Connell as their starter if they dealt Cassel before the season started. The Patriots will find a way to keep Cassel and his salary, even if it means restructuring several players' deals. Mark this down, Matt Cassel won't be traded anytime soon, or at least until the Patriots are 100% sure that Tom Brady will be ready to start the season as their starting quarterback.
