2003 NFL Draft

The Overrated
&
The Underrated

     Overrated Prospects

The following is a list of Prospects that I believe are this Drafts Most Overrated.
This list is strictly my own opinion.

1.  DT Jimmy Kennedy (Penn State)

Kennedy is listed as the Top Prospect at the Defensive Tackle Position by just about every list or publication...I dont see it...I've watched Kennedy play several times and although he has good potential he just isn't a top 5 or 10 prospect in this Draft or even the top Defensive Tackle available....he struggles to shed his blockers....gets caught up in the trash...and has a reputation for taking a few downs off now and then....As one AFC GM put it (in Len Pasquerelli's Tip Sheet Column) Quote - "You might think I'm crazy but if I had a pick in the top 5
I wouldn't be so quick to jump on Kennedy...the guy scares the hell out of me...He takes too many downs off and there are times that He doesn't seem interested in making the play...If he turns out to be just an average player remember this conversation".
Well put and I agree 110 %.

2.  CB  Andre Woolfolk  (Oklahoma)
3.  WR  Taylor Jacobs  (Florida)
4.  WR  Brandon Lloyd  (Illinois)
5.  OG  Derrick Dockery  (Texas)
6.  OT  Brent Williams  (Florida State)
7.  DE  Jimmy Wilkerson  (Oklahoma)
8.  LB  Gerald Hayes  (Pittsburgh)
9.  LB  LaMarcus McDonald  (LSU)
10. DE  Tyler Brayton  (Colorado)

Underrated Prospects

The Following is a list of prospects that I believe are this Drafts Most Underrated.
This list is strictly my own opinion.

1.  LB  Bradie James  (Louisiana State)

Bradie James is not listed amoung the Top Prospects at his position by most lists or publications but James has the potential to be one of the steals in this Draft if he slips to the middle rounds...He's versatile...He does a great job of playing the run and has the ability to rush the passer off the edge...He's played  every Linebacker position for LSU and has been productive.
Im not saying he should be a top 20 pick but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets Drafted as early as the middle of Round 2 but at worst a first day selection.

2.  HB  Artose Pinner  (Kentucky)

3.  HB  LaBrandon Toefield  (Louisiana St)

4.  WR  Billy McMullen  (Virginia)

5.  TE  Donald Lee  (Mississippi State)

6.  OT  Wayne Hunter  (Hawaii)

7.  DT  Ty Warren  (Texas A&M)

8.  SS  Jerome Sapp  (Notre Dame)

9.  LB  Tony Gilbert  (Georgia)

10. LB  Merrill Robertson  (Virginia)
